Eje temático 1.-Huellas de las migraciones caribeñas en la Bienal de La Habana

Abstract

RESUMEN La Bienal de La Habana es un evento artístico internacional fundamentalmente orientado a la puesta en valor de la producción simbólica emergente de los países de África, Asia, Medio Oriente, América Latina y el Caribe. Desde su fundación, hace ya tres décadas, la Bienal se ha erigido en espacio idóneo para el intercambio acerca de los problemas del arte y los muy diversos temas de interés social que las prácticas artísticas abrazan. La quinta edición incluyó entre sus núcleos temáticos la problemática migratoria, sin embargo, dado el peso específico que ese fenómeno cobra en la escena contemporánea, su abordaje ha emergido una y otra vez en sucesivas ediciones. La presentación que se propone aborda el análisis de un amplio conjunto de representaciones visuales concurrentes en la Bienal habanera interesadas en reflejar el impacto de los procesos migratorios en la región del Caribe. Se contemplan, entonces, poéticas y obras que hacen énfasis en las circunstancias de desarraigo dimanadas del acto migratorio, que proponen hondas reflexiones en torno al nuevo estatus que presupone el asentamiento del inmigrante en un entorno ajeno y el inevitable proceso de reajuste y reformulación de los discursos identitarios; poéticas y obras que revelan, al cabo, múltiples aristas de los complejos procesos interculturales de dominación, asimilación, exclusión asociados al trasiego migratorio. Para la Bienal de La Habana, durante doce ediciones , ha resultado de interés significar el capital simbólico, a través del cual se han modelado los discursos relacionados con los desplazamientos humanos, los que solo pueden comprenderse como fenómenos constitutivos y esenciales que reformulan constantement e el tejido social, sus imaginarios y, reconfiguran sus identidades, las cuales son susceptibles de ser interpretadas dentro de límites retóricos. El evento que en esta ponencia se estudia la Bienal de La Habana ha tenido la oportunidad de redimensionar el Caribe, de poner en valor sus consistencias, no sus estereotipos, así como las expansiones artísticas que también están relacionadas con las aperturas para el conocimiento en el área. El Caribe entiende de disparidades y polarizaciones y, la producción artística ha padecido de orfandades, desfasajes, de ahí que, tratándose de los cruzamientos posibles y productivos dentro de la región, espacios como el de la Habana haya trazado como estrategia, el mantenimiento de la dialogicidad a través de los discursos comunes que existen, lo cual nos permite al mismo tiempo redimensionar las peculiaridades que nos distinguen.

ABSTRACT The Havana Biennial is an international artistic event primarily aimed at the enhancement of the symbolic production of the countries of Africa, Asia, Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean. Since its founding, three decades ago, the biennial has become a suitable space for the Exchange about the problems of art and diverse topics of social interest that artistic practices embrace. The fifth edition included among its thematic nuclei the immigration problem, however, given the specific weight that this phenomenon takes on the contemporary scene, its approach has emerged time and again in successive editions. The presentation proposed deals with a broad set of concurrent visual representations in the Havana Biennial interested in reflect the impact of migration processes in the region of the Caribbean. Consider, then, poetics and works that emphasize the circumstances of uprooting emanating from the Immigration Act, which proposed deep reflections on the new status which presupposes the settlement of immigrants in an alien environment and the inevitable process of readjustment and reformulation of the identity discourses; poetics and works that reveal all, multiple edges of the complex intercultural processes of domination, assimilation and exclusion associated with migrant trafficking. For the Havana Biennial, twelve editions, it has been of interest mean the symbolic capital, through which the discourses related human displacement, which can only be understood as constituent and essential phenomena that constantly reformulate the social fabric, their imaginary, and reconfigure their identities, which are likely to be interpreted within rhetorical limits have been modelled. The event that this presentation is studied the biennial of Havana has had the opportunity of resizing the Caribbean, put in value its consistencies, not their stereotypes, as well as the artistic expansions that are also related to the openings for knowledge in the area.
