Desalienar el ACD: una revisión de la noción de ideología para devolver la crítica marxista al análisis crítico del discurso.

Abstract

En sus inicios, el Análisis Crítico del Discurso (ACD) se constituyó como una disciplina con una fuerte impronta marxista (Fairclough 1989; Fairclough y Wodak, 2000; Fowler et al; 1979). No obstante, consideramos que en los últimos años esta filiación teórica se fue debilitando o, incluso, desapareciendo. En este sentido, el presente artículo posee dos objetivos. En primer lugar, revisaremos trabajos recientes del ACD que nos permiten demostrar que no solo se alejan de la teoría marxista, sino que esta no es reemplazada por otra teoría social que enmarque y dé sentido al análisis de discursos. En segundo lugar, revisaremos críticamente la definición de ideología utilizada de manera explícita o implícita en los trabajos fundacionales del ACD, así como también los vínculos que estos establecen entre discurso y realidad. Finalmente, propondremos una definición de ideología que, sin retornar a la versión más simplista de la falsa conciencia, permita reencausar al ACD en la tradición marxista.

Critical Discourse Analysis (ACD) was established as a discipline with a strong Marxist imprint (Fairclough 1989; Fairclough and Wodak, 2000; Fowler et al; 1979). However, we believe that in recent years this theoretical affiliation has been weakening or even disappearing. In this sense, this article has two objectives. First, we will review recent ACD works that allow us to demonstrate that not only they move away from Marxist theory, but that it is not replaced by another social theory that frames and gives meaning to the discourse analysis. Secondly, we will critically review the definition of ideology used explicitly or implicitly in the founding works of the ACD, as well as the links they establish between discourse and reality. Finally, we will propose a definition of ideology that, without returning to the most simplistic version of the false conscience, allows the ACD to be redirected in the Marxist tradition.
