Superintendentes administradores, ensayadores y grabadores en las cecas del Perú virreinal (1800-1826)

Abstract

Las investigaciones sobre las cecas peruanas en el período colonial, han privilegiado los aspectos operativos, administrativos y monetarios, dejando en segundo plano a los oficiales que formaban parte de la enmarañada trama burocrática y que hicieron posible la actividad de tales establecimientos. E ste artículo tiene por finalidad introducirnos en la biografía, obra y relaciones sociales de los superintendentes administradores, ensayadores y grabadores de las Casas de Moneda que funcionaron en el territorio del virreinato del Perú durante el siglo XIX.

The research on colonial Peruvian mints has privileged the operational, administrative and monetary aspects, leaving in the background the officers who were par t of the tangled bureaucratic system that made possible the activity of such establishments. This article aims to introduce us into the biography, work and social relations of the administrative superintendents, assayers and engravers of the mints that wor ked in the territory of the viceroyalty of Peru during the 19th century.
