Ficción e historia en el siglo XXI. El nomos narrativo en la novela española actual

Abstract

Estudio de la metodología narrativa seguida por tres novelas españolas recientes con relación al tratamiento de la temporalidad histórica nacional centrada en dos episodios especialmente traumá - ticos de esa historia: la Guerra Civil y el terro- rismo de eTA. Los textos son El monarca de las sombras de Javier Cercas, Patria de Fernando Aramburu y Eva de Arturo Pérez-Reverte. esos textos ficcionales plantean una versión histórica diferencial en la que se ponen en cuestionamiento las conclusiones y el enjuiciamiento convencio - nales de esos hechos. Al mismo tiempo, propo- nen una lectura hermenéutica abierta que puede generar nuevos modos de visualizar y evaluar la historia nacional.

Study of the narrative methodology used in three recent spanish novels regarding their treatment of the national historical temporality focusing on two especially traumatic episodes of that history: the spanish Civil War and eTA terrorism. The novels are: El monarca de las sombras by Javier Cercas, Patria by Fernando Aramburu and Eva by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. These fictional texts ad - vance a differential version of those episodes and they question the conventional conclusions and evaluation of the facts at hand. At the same time, those novels propose an open hermeneutic read- ing that may generate new ways of visualizing and evaluating spanish national history
