Americanización y antiamericanismo en el universo narrativo y cultural de Madrid: el Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía como espacio metatextual

Abstract

La americanización se erigiría en el curso del siglo XX en uno de los procesos centrales y en la nueva versión de la modernidad a tenor de la hegemonía secular que se proyectaría desde el otro lado del Atlántico. En España el secular debate sobre la modernización se troquelaría con el nuevo siglo desde las claves del casticismo y la europeización. La crisis finisecular de 1898 inseminaría en este universo discursivo no sólo la primera codificación colectiva del antiamericanismo sino también la toma de conciencia en ciertos círculos intelectuales y políticos sobre el poder y el modelo estadounidense. El devenir del siglo iría cromando desde claves globales y locales la permeabilidad a la inercia de la americanización y las manifestaciones de antiamericanismo. La escena cultura reciente de Madrid y en particular el Museo Reina Sofía pincelarían un espacio metatextual en el que las más diversas expresiones artísticas plasmarían este pliego de imágenes y percepciones sobre el poder americano.

ABSTRACT: The Americanization would became throught the 20th Century in one of the main historical process and the new version of Modernitiy based on the secular hegemony from the other side of Atlantic Ocean. In Spain the traditional debate about the Modernization it would be rewrite in the new century from the key concepts of “casticismo” and Europeanization. The Crisis of the end of century in 1898 would inseminate in this narrative universe not only the first version of anti-Americanism but also the awareness in certain intellectual and political spheres about the power and the American pattern of Modernity. From global and local keys the trajectory of 20th Century would insert the vigor of Americanization and the different expressions of the anti-Americanism. La recent cultural scene in Madrid and specially in the Reina Sofia Museum, would show a polysemic space where the different artistic expressions would translate this set of images and perceptions about the American power.
