Cómo nos ayuda Marx a entender el populismo contemporáneo

Abstract

A partir de una breve presentación de las categorías y análisis de Marx, este texto va a reivindicar la actualidad del pensamiento marxiano como herramienta de análisis (y transformación) del capitalismo contemporáneo. Un capitalismo que, a pesar de sus múltiples transformaciones, seguiría respondiendo, a grandes rasgos, a la dinámica y al entramado señalados en la obra de Marx. A partir de la reivindicación de diferentes desarrollos posteriores de (o inspirados por) la teoría marxiana (entre otros, los de Guy Debord), el texto señala algunos de los requisitos y elementos fundamentales de la crítica al capitalismo existente, alertándonos sobre los riesgos y limitaciones de lo que podríamos calificar como un "falso anticapitalismo" propugnado por diferentes movimientos sociales arraigados a un lado y otro del espectro político.

ABSTRACT: Starting from the basis of a brief presentation of Marx’s categories and analysis, this article claims the current relevance of Marx’s thought as an analysis (and transformation) tool of contemporary capitalism. A capitalism that, despite its multiple transformations, still broadly follows the dynamics and the fabric pointed out by Marx. Also on the basis of the assertions of different later developments of (or inspired by) Marx’s theory (among others, Guy Debord’s), this article points out some of the prerequisites and key elements of the critique of the existing capitalism; moreover it also warns about the risks and limitations of a so-called “fake anticapitalism” advocated by different social movements that have taken root on both sides of the political spectrum.
