El testigo como huella: una aproximación a la producción de una historia de las mujeres

Abstract

¿En qué consiste escribir una historia sobre las mujeres? ¿Cuál es la posición a asumir para escuchar a nuestras predecesoras? En este texto mostraremos la conexión entre testigo y testimonio —que activa un mecanismo de representación específico— y cómo esta representación del testigo, sus usos y su visibilidad, afecta la posición epistemológica, ética y ontológica del propio sujeto-testigo. Para llevar a cabo esta aproximación al problema de la representación, recogeremos la manera en que aborda Françoise Collin la cuestión de la historia de las mujeres. Con este objetivo analizaremos dos de las opciones metodológicas posibles por lo que a la historiografía sobre las mujeres atañe, cada una con su propio conjunto de problemas, y la posibilidad de la inserción de la figura del testigo tal y como la teoriza Giorgio Agamben como un primer paso hacia parte de una solución.

How to write a history of women? From what position should we listen to our predecessors? In this paper we will explore the connection between witness and testimony —which puts into motion a specific representation mechanism in the shift from one to the other— and how this representation of the testimony, its uses and visibility, affect the epistemological, ethical, and ontological position of the witness-subject itself. In order to show an approximation to the problem of representation, we will focus our attention on Françoise Collin’s approach to a history of women, elaborating two of its possible historiographical methodological options, each with its own set of problems, and the possibility of the insertion of the witness figure as Giorgio Agamben theorizes it as a step towards part of a solution.
