"El idiota" de Fiódor Dostoyevski y "Nazarín" de Benito Pérez Galdós, novelas cervantinas y quijotescas

Abstract

El presente texto pretende ofrece r un análisis comparativo de dos textos narrativos perteneci entes a las literaturas rusa y española de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX , las novelas El idiota (1869) de Fiódor Dostoyevski y Nazarín (1895) de Benito Pérez Galdós. Una vez situadas estas obras en su contexto, teniendo en cuenta la evolución literaria de la escritura de sus autores, nos vamos a centrar en estudiar , desde los presupuestos de la literatura c omparada y la narratología, diferentes elementos de estas obra s: la estructura de las mismas, el desarrollo de la trama, el tipo de narrador, el uso de diálogos y descripciones y los personajes , atendiendo tanto a los protagonistas como a los personajes secundarios, así como al carácter quijotesco de los primeros, cu ya caracterización también se relaciona con la figura de Jesucristo. Tal búsqueda de semejanzas y diferencias entre estas nov ela s revela un importante elemento común: la profunda huella cervantina y quijotesc a, que permite definirlas como cervantean novel s y quixotic fiction s , conceptos propuestos por Juan Antonio Garrido Ardila. Pese a esa deuda con la tradición literaria , Fiódor Dostoy evski y Benito Pérez Galdós lograron con su obra abrir camino a la modernidad propia de la novela posterior del siglo XX

The present text aims to offer a comparative an alysis of two narrative texts belonging to the Russian and Spanish literatures of the second half of the 19 th century , the novels The Idiot (1869) by Fiódor Dostoyevski and Nazarín (1895) by Benito Pérez Galdós. Once these works have been placed in their context, taking into account the literary evolution of their author’s writing, we will we focus on studying , from the presup positions of Comparative Literature and Narratology, different elements of th ese works: their structure , the development of the plot, the type of narrator, the use of dialogues and descriptions , and the characters, attending both the protagonists and the secondary characters, as well as the quixotic character of them, whose characterization is also related to the figure of Jesus Christ. Such a search for similarities and differences between these novels reveals an important common element: the deep ce rvantean and quixotic imprint , which al lows them to be define d as cervantean novel s and quixotic fiction s , concepts proposed by Juan Antonio Garrido Ardila. Despite this debt with the literary tradition, Fiódor Dostoyevski and Benito Pérez Galdós managed w ith their work to open the way to th e modernity typical of the subsequent novel of the 20 th century.
