El diseño como discurso de resistencia: Vattimo y la oscilación del arte

Abstract

Este artículo pretende acercarse al desarrollo estético de Gianni Vattimo para proponer el concepto de diseño oscilatorio. Para ello, se analizarán en primer lugar los conceptos que pone en juego Vattimo al hablar sobre arte y estética. Una vez hecho esto, en un segundo momento metodológico, se confrontarán las reflexiones estéticas vattimianas con ejemplos del diseño y la arquitectura de la sociedad tardoindustrial. Llegados a ese punto nos tendre mos que preguntar si el arte y el diseño, más en concreto, pueden ejercer una función liberadora, elaborar un discurso de resistencia o simplemente son otro instrumento de opresión por parte de una minoría.

This article aims to approach the aesthetic development of Gianni Vattimo to propose the concept of oscillatory design. For this, the concepts that Vattimo puts into play when ta lking about art and aesthetics will be analyzed first. Once this is done, in a second methodological moment, the aesthetic vatimian reflections will be confronted with examples of late industrial society design and architecture. At that point we will have to ask ourselves if art and design, more specifically, can exercise a liberating function, elaborate a discourse of resistance or are simply another instrument of oppression by a minority.
