La escritura ilegible: metáforas corporales en la pintura de Irma Blank, Mirtha Dermisache y Pierrette Bloch

Abstract

A principios de los años 70, Roland Barthes acuña el término de ‘es- critura ilegible’, haciendo referencia a una serie de grafismos misteriosos e ininteligibles, que tienen la capacidad de escribir el pulso del cuerpo, en con- tra de la lógica económica que gobierna el aparato discursivo del sistema falo- logocéntrico. En esta línea, de acuerdo con la terminología barthesiana, las obras de Irma Blank, Mirtha Dermisache y Pierrette Bloch arremeten contra el orden racional y discursivo del lenguaje, a través de una escritura enigmática y silenciosa, en donde el trazado infinito del significante se libera de la estabili- dad que proporciona el sentido. De esta manera, en una nueva concepción de la escritura y la lectura, el trabajo de estas artistas consigue plasmar una autoría a- subjetiva, que queda más allá de la so- berbia y el egocentrismo que impone la metafísica de la presencia del sistema occidental.

In the early 70s, Roland Barthes coined the term ‘illegible writ- ing’, to refer to a series of mysterious and unintelligible graphics, that have the ability to write the pulse of the body, much against the economic logic that governs the discursive apparatus of the phallo-logocentric system. In that line, according to Barthesian terminolo- gy, the works of Irma Blank, Mirtha Dermisache and Pierrette Bloch attack the rational and the discursive order of language trough an enigmatic and silent writing, in which the infinite trace of the signifier is released from the stability provided by meaning. Thus, in a new conception of writing and reading, the work of these artists manages to cap- ture a non-subjective authorship, which is beyond the arrogance and egocen- trism imposed by the metaphysics of presence in the Western system.
