This article analyzes two unsatisfactory texts produced by university students from the perspective of the paragraphic segmentation of the text, considered here as one of the signals of the metadiscursive activity and, therefore, of the control of the spontaneous production of the language that perform, in the process of elaboration of formal texts, the expert writers. The analysis reveals (a) that the paragraphic hypersegmentation and hyposegmentation observed in the texts of inexperienced writers are attributable to the difficulty of them to carry out thematic clusters and todiscriminate informational packages, respectively, and (b) that both hypersegmentation and hyposegmentation has a negative effect on the text. |
