Diversidad e ideología de los grupos conservadores : la quinta columna de Cartagena (1936-1939)

Abstract

Durante la guerra civil española, se producen actividades de espionaje, difusión, lucha clandestina, resistencia y sabotajes, tanto en la zona franquista como en la republicana. Estos grupos dependiendo de la zona donde se establece el control civil y militar, se configuraron según el éxito de la sublevación militar. En Cartagena no llegó a consumarse el levantamiento militar por los opuestos a la República. Esta ciudad con numerosas instalaciones militares, y navales, y con un puerto en excelentes condiciones de defensa, y tráfico marítimo, contribuía a ser uno de los bastiones más importantes del gobierno republicano. Inmediatamente a la neutralización de la sublevación en la ciudad, se establece por los dirigentes del Frente Popular, detenciones y fusilamientos.

Al abordar la temática de referencia nos propusimos los siguientes objetivos.

A) El origen de la quinta columna de Cartagena, y su tipología. B) La diversidad e ideología de sus componentes y quienes la formaban. C) La infiltración de la quinta columna en la retaguardia y sus actividades. D) Determinar los sucesos del cinco de marzo en Cartagena. E) Analizar la labor y consecuencias que tuvo la quinta columna durante la guerra civil, y la suerte de sus actores. F) La quinta columna en la posguerra.

En cuanto a la metodología del trabajo, se ha realizado un amplio trabajo de recopilación de datos objetivos y debidamente investigados y razonados, con amplios soportes científicos, en los que citan importantes fuentes, que se describen en cinco bloques diferentes: inéditas, orales, documentales, hemerográficas y bibliográficas.

Conclusiones. La quinta columna en Cartagena, conocida como “socorro blanco y lucha contra el marxismo”, no produjo un periodo consecutivo y correlativo para que, contribuyera a una estable resistencia para poder originar actos de estrategia de guerra como: sabotajes, logística, información y acometimiento contra el ejército republicano, en concreto contra los milicianos del Frente Popular. Todo lo contrario, la única relevancia que se producía en la ciudad eran los constantes bombardeos que la aviación franquista realizaba. No obstante queda acreditada las puntuales acciones tanto individuales como estructurada en redes de base de personas que, arriesgaban su vida y estatus social, en acciones algunas veces suicidas de espionaje, sabotaje, logística, y la más característica la humanitaria ante la barbarie que determinados miembros del Frente Popular de la plaza, cometían como represalia por los bombardeos de la aviación nacional, contra la ciudad, o los éxitos de las campañas del ejército franquista. During the Spanish Civil War, espionage activities, diffusion, clandestine struggle, resistance and sabotage took place, both in the Francoist and Republican zones.These groups, depending on the zone where civil and military control is established, were configured according to the success of the military uprising. In Cartagena the military uprising by the opposites to the republic was not consummated. This city with numerous military and naval installations, and with a port in excellent conditions of defense, and maritime traffic, contributed to be one of the most important bastion of the republican government. Immediately to the neutralization of the uprising in the city, arrests and shootings are established by the leaders of the Popular Front.

In addressing the issue of reference we set the following objectives.

A) The origin of the fifth column of Cartagena, and its typology. B) Diversity and ideology of its members and those who formed it. C) The infiltration of the fifth column in the rearguard and its activities. D) Determine the events of March 5th in Cartagena. E) Analyze the work and consequences that the fifth column had during the civil war and the fate of its actors. F) The fifth column in the postwar period.

Regarding the work methodology, an extensive work of compiling objective data and duly researched and reasoned has been carried out, with broad scientific supports, in which they cite important sources, which are described in five different blocks: unpublished, oral, documentary, hemerographic and bibliographic.

Conclusions.
