Familias y migraciones en Venezuela: apuntes para una historia social

Abstract

Las migraciones o cómo históricamente y por qué la gente se ha movido de sus sitios de origen, es un tema natural que pone al descubier to las relaciones trasatlánticas que ha habido entre Europa y América en toda su historia m oderna, contemporánea y actual. A partir de algunos aportes historiográficos venezolanos, en esta propuesta se sostiene que los sistemas de relación familiar, amistosa y laboral d el pasado constituyen las bases primarias sobre los que se han tejido los procesos migratorio s en y hacia la península ibérica desde el siglo XVI hasta el XXI

Migrations, or historically how and why people have moved from their sites of origin, is a typical theme that reveals transatlantic relations that have existed between Europe and America during modern, contemporary and actual time s. Taking advantage of some contributions from Venezuelan historiography, this proposal sustains that systems of family, friendship and labor relations constitute the prima ry underpinning from which the migratory processes have been woven in and from the Spanish p eninsula since the 16 th to the 21 st century
