Mujeres, feminismo y género: un debate historiográfico en Cuba

Abstract

Dentro del contexto social e histórico en el que se han producido las investigaciones de género en Cuba en los últimos treinta años, el balance arroja una fuerte resistencia a emplear las teorías de género y más, todavía, la transversalización de estos conceptos en gran parte de los trabajos publicados hasta la fecha; esto ha impedido que las investigaciones históricas y otras áreas de estudio hayan participado del auge de los Estudios de Género y de las Mujeres en Latinoamérica. El debate es, pues, interno y, salvo disciplinas como la psicología y la sociología, las Ciencias Sociales están determinadas por la sospecha de alentar las propuestas democráticas que conlleva la teoría feminista y de género. Impera, entonces, la tibieza de las reflexiones críticas en cuanto a lo teórico y su aplicación en las investigaciones. Sobre lo dicho se plantea un balance crítico de la historiografía de las mujeres y de género que centre la polémica actual cubana.

Inside the social and historical context in that the gender investigations have taken place in Cuba in the last thirty years, the balance still throws a strong resistance to use the gender theories and less, still, the tranversalitatión of these concepts in a large part of the works published so far; this has impeded the peak of the historical investigations and other Studies of Gender to the same rhythm that the Latin American production. The debate is, because, I intern and, except for disciplines like the psychology and the sociology, the other branches inside the Social Sciences are determined by the suspicion of encouraging the democratic proposals that it bears the feminist theory and of gender. It reigns, then, the Luke warmness of the critical reflections as for the theoretical thing and their application in the investigations. On that said he/she thinks about a critical balance of the historiography of the women and of gender that centers the current Cuban polemic.
