dc.description.abstractMedia education in Spain has never received a public acknowledgment according to its importance within our time’s society. While the presence of media education in the curricula of European countries was growing during the 1970’s, Spanish scholars refused to grant this topic a priority attention. Alternatively, they let the task of raising awareness about the need to develop a critical and creative media education system in hands of other professional groups, like journalists or teachers.es
