La romería de san Antonio en Lobosillo

Abstract

Lobosillo es una de las pedanías de Murcia clasifi cada como «de campo», limitada por todos lados por otras localidades pertenecientes al campo cartagenero; digamos pues que es una isla de Murcia en pleno campo de Cartagena.El paraje de «Los Ríos», a tres kilómetros del centro urbano, parece haber recibido el nombre de que los propietarios de las tierras. Estos, a fi nales del siglo XVII y principios del XVIII construyeron una vivienda señorial y una ermita, inicialmente para uso privado, y luego se erigió en Rectoría, después, a princi-pios del siglo XIX, tras la construcción de la parroquia, cedió su papel pastoral al nuevo templo.En la festividad de San Pedro se celebra la fi esta mayor de la localidad, pero se ha unifi cado con la de San Antonio, que es el patrón real del vecindario, por razones laborales. La imagen de San Antonio siempre ha permanecido en su ermita; y desde mediados del siglo XX se celebra la procesión con «las lumbrás» o encendido de hogueras en honor al santo, potenciada por la «Hermandad de San Antonio de Padua», creada el año dos mil.

Lobosillo is one of the villages of Murcia classifi ed as «rural», limited by all sides by other places which belong to the Field of Cartagena; so we can say that it is an island of Murcia in the middle of the fi eld of Cartagena.The place of «Los Rios», three kilometers from the downtown, seems to have received the name from the landowners. Those, at the end of the 17th century and beginnings of the 18th century built a lordly mansion and a hermitage, initially for private usage, and then was erected as a Rectory, afterwards, at the beginnings of the 19th century, after the built-up of the parish church, handed over its pastoral role to the new temple.In the festivity of Saint Pater the major Fiesta of the locality is celebrated, but it has been joined to that of Saint Anthony, who is the real patron saint of the neig-hborhood, for labour reasons.The statue of Saint Anthony has always remained in its hermitage; and since halfway through the 20th century, the procession with «las lumbrás» or the lightening of bonfi res is celebrated in the honor of the saint, promoted by the «Hermandad de San Antonio de Padua», created in the year 2000.
