Sulpicia e l’antitesi

Abstract

Le elegie attribuite a Sulpicia – come tutti sanno – sono ospitate nel III libro del Corpus Tibullianum. La poetessa affronta la tematica amorosa di matrice elegiaca, investendo sull’elaborazione stilistico-retorica dei suoi carmi, in linea con la poetica della sua età. Qui s’intende fornire una lettura degli elegidia della poetessa secondo reductio ad rhetoricam, evidenziando la figura dell’antitheton.

The elegies attributed to Sulpicia – as everybody knows – are found in the third book of the Corpus Tibullianum. The poetess deals with themes peculiar to the genre “love-elegy” and produces a kind of rhetorical poetry, according to the poetic of her age. So we aim to give a reading of the elegidia by the poetess on the basis of the so called reductio ad rhetoricam, underlining the f igure of speech, called antitheton.
