Poesía belga contemporánea: William Cliff

Abstract

Résumé: Cet article veut nous présenter et nous faire connaître un grand poète belge contemporain, sa façon de concevoir le monde et sa manière de créer la poésie en tenant toujours compte de sa vision de la vie. Il s’agit d’un poète homosexuel, qui, depuis tout petit, a éprouvé des difficultés pour s’exprimer et comprendre où était sa fonction dans la société. Grâce à la découverte du poète espagnol Ferrater, William Cliff va se définir comme un poète et obtiendra une place dans le monde lyrique. Il est reconnu par son expression claire et précise sans “tabous”. Sa poésie naît grâce au besoin d’une liberté d’expression, comme une dénonciation contre cette société hypocrite fondée sur le mensonge et toute une série de règles que l’homme s’impose à lui-même en l’empêchant d’être libre. William Cliff se sert de formes classiques pour l’élaboration de ses poèmes chargés d’une écrasante vérité.

Abstract: The aim of this article is to introduce a great contemporaneous Belgian poet, his way of seeing the world and of creating poetry always considering his vision of life. He’s an homosexual poet who, since his childhood, has had some difficulties in expressing himself and in understanding where his place in the society was. Thanks to his discovery of the Spanish poet named Ferrater, W. Cliff will describe himself as a poet and will find a place in the lyrical world. He is famous for his clear and precise expression without taboo. His poetry was born thanks to his freedom of speech desire which seems to be a denunciation against this hypocritical society based on lies and rules the Man imposes to himself in order to prevent him from being free. W. Cliff uses classic forms to write his poems full of an overwhelming truth.
