El impacto del proyecto migratorio en la salud mental de jóvenes migrantes extutelados

Abstract

El siguiente trabajo tiene como objetivo principal analizar los problemas psicológicos y emocionales de jóvenes extranjeros extutelados/as desde el inicio de sus proyectos migratorios hasta que salen de los sistemas de protección de la infancia. Partiendo de una metodología mixta (cualitativa y cuantitativa) a profesionales de la intervención social y jóvenes entre 18 y 29 años de edad de la provincia de Málaga, esta investigación se centra en conocer las circunstancias adversas en los procesos migratorios, las vivencias personales en los sistemas de protección de la infancia y las controversias existentes cuando los jóvenes transitan a la vida adulta. Los resultados muestran las dificultades a nivel personal que experimentan los jóvenes migrantes durante el proceso migratorio, sobre todo, en cuanto a problemas de salud mental. Se constata que es necesario disponer de mayor inversión en atención psicológica que complemente la ayuda profesional de educadores y trabajadores sociales,

The main objective of the following work is to analyse the psychological and emotional problems of young foreigners in detention from the beginning of their migration projects until they leave the child protection systems. Using a mixed methodology (qualitative and quantitative) with social intervention professionals and young people between 18 and 29 years of age in the province of Malaga, this research focuses on the adverse circumstances in the migratory processes, the personal experiences in the child protection systems and the existing controversies when the young people transition to adult life. The results show the personal difficulties experienced by young migrants during the migration process, especially in terms of mental health problems. It is noted that there is a need for greater investment in psychological care to complement the professional help of educators and social workers, especially in the early stages of the intervention of the protection systems, which is key during the process of and reception. Furthermore, the text highlights the manifest importance of accompa-nying young people in the process of adaptation to adult life, where risks affecting mental health can develop and prevent normal social inclusion.
