Three farms located in three areas with different environmental and anthropogenic conditions were studied in order to evaluate the influence of lead exposure from different sources, and with special reference to the new leaded-gasoline regulations (Spain). The total mean concentration of lead in blood from goats sampled in 1992 was slightly higher than in 2001, but the difference was not statistically significant. However, the comparisons of the mean total concentrations among sampling areas showed significant differences (mining>highway>rural). In the highway area, mean blood concentration in 1992 was 1.5-fold higher than in 2001.es
