La rupture du langage : réflexions sur le Journal de deuil de Roland Barthes.

Abstract

Al día siguiente de la muerte de su madre, el 25 de octubre de 1977, Roland Barthes comien-za el Diario de duelo. La última entrada está fechada el 15 de septiembre de 1979. Durante estos dos años, inmerso en el dolor, Barthes se dedica a escribir, para mantener vivo el recuer-do de su madre. Pero, ¿cómo escribir? ¿Qué lenguaje inventar? ¿Hablar todavía sigue sien-do posible? La muerte compromete el lenguaje, se cuela en los intersticios de la palabra, hasta que desgarra el discurso. Por eso, el 4 de no-viembre de 1978, Barthes constata que la escri-tura ya no es posible.

The day after his mother’s death, on October 25, 1977, Roland Barthes began the Mour-ning diary. The last entry is dated September 15, 1979. During these two years, immersed in grief, Barthes devoted himself to writing, to keep the memory of his mother alive. But how to write? What language should be invented? Is it still possible to speak? Death compromises language, it creeps into the interstices of the word, until it tears discourse apart. That is why, on November 4, 1978, Barthes confirms that writing is no longer possible.
