apoyen en la guía checklist de verificación que será propuesta al final de este documento Background: Global positioning systems (GPS) and local positioning systems (LPS) used in the sport field are influenced by several technical factors that affect the accuracy of their data. Therefore, technical studies that analyze the accuracy of these technologies should report these factors in detail. Objective: The objective of this study was to analyze the inclusion of the information referring to the different factors that affect GPS and LPS technologies in those studies that carry out a validity and/or reliability analysis of these systems. Methods: A systematic review of Web of Science, Scopus, Medline, Pubmed y ScienceDirect data bases was carried out. Eligible studies were those that examined some characteristic of the measurement of GPS or LPS devices, in the sport field. Results: The search strategy identified 744 studies. After duplicate removal, inclusion/exclusion criteria and search eligible studies in other sources, a total of 64 investigations were included in the qualitative synthesis. The analysis of the studies included shows that the least reported factors were: horizontal dilution of precision (HDOP) (52,2%) and number of satellites (43,5%) (GPS studies), data processing (71,4%) and information regarding the antennas’ infrastructure (64,3%) (LPS studies); and HDOP/information regarding antennas’ infrastructure (75,0%) and gold standard (50,0%) (GPS and LPS studies). On the other hand, the test used and variables analyzed were shown as the least omitted factors, since they were reported in all the studies examined. Conclusions: The main findings of the present study demonstrated the high lack of information about the factors that affect to the GPS and LPS systems in those technical studies that examine these technologies. Based on these results, future studies are encouraged to rely on the checklist guide that will be proposed at the end of this manuscript. |
