Necesidad y rechazo del otro. Situación de judíos y conversos en el reino castellano durante los siglos XIV y XV

Abstract

La comunidad judía castellana de las centurias bajomedievales es un objeto de estudio que puede abordarse desde múltiples perspectivas, ya sea desde las acusaciones hacia esta con motivo de la peste, la necesidad de dinero de los monarcas o el desprecio de los deudores cristianos hacia los prestamistas hebreos. Los sucesos de finales del siglo XIV constituyen el culmen de una violencia ya existente y el umbral de lo que acontecería en las postrimerías del siglo siguiente, momento final de una otredad difícil que tampoco los conversos fueron capaces de vadear.
