dc.description.abstractAbstract Compassion in educational centers has been proven to promote the welfare of teachers and the comprehensive development of their students. However, in the Spanish context, research in this regard is scarce. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to develop a questionnaire (attitude scale) about the compassion of secondary school teachers towards their co-workers in the Spanish socio-educational context, specifically, in the autonomous community of the Región de Murcia. An expert judgment made up of 15 judges chosen by convenience sampling was developed to assess construct validity. Likewise, a pilot study formed of 105 secondary school teachers also chosen by convenience sampling was carried out to analyze the psychometric properties of the scale. Results confirm a scale with good psychometric properties and a factorial structure of two subscales (Compassion towards co-workers and Perception of compassion from co-workers) constituted, in addition, by two dimensions (empathy and action to alleviate suffering). In conclusion, although we cannot generalize the results to another sample, this scale would be a first step for educational improvement from educational orientation in the face of the social crisis in which education is submerged.es
