Los pícaros godos: participación y experiencias de los combatientes realistas durante la guerra en el espacio sur-andino. 1809-1825.

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es el análisis de la participación y movilización de aquellos jefes y soldados pertenecientes al ejército del Rey que actuaron en la guerra revolucionaria en el espacio sur-andino. A partir del estudio de diferentes casos, se pretende comprender las experiencias de guerra y el grado de identificación de estos actores con esta causa política durante el proceso de lucha contra el bando revolucionario. La cuestión si las convocatorias emitidas por los jefes y oficiales repercutieron en las tropas para lograr identificarlas con la causa política a defender, señala una problemática que viene debatiéndose desde hace algunas décadas en la historiografía americana y española.

The objective of this article is the analysis of the participation and mobilization of those chiefs and soldiers belonging to the King’s army who acted in the revolutionary war in the SouthAndean space. From the study of different cases, it is intended to understand the experiences of the war and the degrees of indication of these actors with the political cause during the processes of struggle against the revolutionary side. The question whether the summons issued by the chiefs and officers had an impact on the troops to identify them with the political cause to defend, point to a problem that has been debated for some decades in American and Spanish historiography.
