DELITOS SOBRE TURISTAS. EL CASO DE LA CIUDAD DE MÁLAGA

Abstract

Los destinos turísticos necesitan no solo ser efectivamente seguros para los viajeros, sino que éstos perciban tal seguridad a la hora de planificar su viaje. Los delitos contra turistas no solo perjudican a éstos, sino a todo el destino por medio del deterioro de su imagen, que es un activo caro de crear y mantener. En este trabajo se aborda el análisis de los delitos sobre turistas en un destino urbano maduro, comparándolos con los incidentes denunciados por los residentes. Analizando 31.799 denuncias de infracciones, los hallazgos han permitido distinguir diferencias significativas en la estacionalidad de los hechos denunciados, presen-tando los delitos denunciados por turistas una mayor intensidad en verano y durante los fines de semana. Además, los hechos denunciados por turistas se esclarecen en una proporción significativamente menor a la de los delitos denunciados por residentes. Por otra parte, las edades promedio de distintos tipos de turistas según motivación del viaje también han podido ser discriminadas significativamente con respecto a la del colectivo de residentes instancia, un análisis georreferenciado de las denuncias permitió crear un mapa de calor señalando una serie de lugares donde los delitos sobre turistas se concentran

Tourism destinations need not only to be secure for travellers, but these to perceive such secureness at the time of designing their trip. Offences against tourists not only damage them, but the whole destination through the attrition of its image, which is an expensive asset in terms of creation and maintenance. In this work we tackle the analysis of the offences on tourists in an urban mature destination, comparing them to the incidences reported by resi-dents. Analysing 31.799 complaints, the findings of this work allowed to figure out signifi-cant differences in the reports seasonality, being those issued by tourists far more intense in summer and in weekends. Moreover, the offences reported by tourists are significantly less cleared up, proportionally, compared to those conveyed by residents. On another aspect, the average ages of different kinds of tourists could also be significantly discriminated respective to residents group. Ultimately, a GIS analysis of the reports allowed to deploy the data, point-ing out a group of places where the offences against tourists concentrate.
