atribuido a los niños/as.
adulto. Post mortem photography as a practice is important to understand the mind in the nineteenth century. The society will have an important participation, which will create an economic activity in the field of photography. The idea of mourning our dead ones with a real representation of them will help people deal with the idea of loss and will lead to the creation of a photography industry that will become a specialization field within the utilization of portraits. The access to the post mortem portraits is very difficult. It depends on the social level that the person has, but, with time, this will change because it will become more affordable (so there will be a democratic access) and, therefore, more popular, turning the portraits into an important social phenomenon. The portraits mirror the minds, feelings, intentions and fears of the humans in the nineteenth century which will have a reflection in the photographic shots. Is very important to see the different portrait types and the chronological context where we are moving, because when the time passes, the typology could be different in the photo, as the portrait and the typology could change the sense of the shot. In this cause, the not acceptance of death will be the most important characteristic in the portraits. All of the portraits will be examples that can reflect the same idea. The objective is immortalizing the earthly life and reminds them that a relative that passed away before, and that makes an immortal memory. Although, the portrait will be considered a symbolic and venerated object for the family, in many occasions “little treasures”. The funerary elements in general are in many times the way to make it easier accepting the family deaths. In this case, it will also be an important example of the funerary process creation that will shape the familiar album. The family albums, will integrate the dead kid and the living adult portraits. But the feeling of dejection is stronger in the portraits of dead kids than in the portraits of the adults because the feeling created by the loss of a kid is sadder than the one of an adult. |
