Puesta en valor del paisaje cultural de la Denominación de Origen Protegida de Jumilla: territorio de identidad para el diseño y creación de un observatorio artístico

Abstract

Ya desde el comienzo de los tiempos, el arte ha estado estrechamente vinculado al paisaje, hasta el punto de que se considera que el nacimiento de este concepto viene dado de la mano de pintores y poetas. Dichos orígenes se remontan a la aparición del territorio como un escenario de observación y espectáculo, en el que la artealización juega un papel fundamental. Así bien, y centrando la atención en la presente Tesis Doctoral, cabe hacer referencia a que la misma surge de la necesidad de generar una herramienta de conocimiento para la puesta en valor del paisaje cultural de la Denominación de Origen Protegida de Jumilla, donde la observación se ha convertido en la herramienta clave para relacionarse con este territorio, contemplando y analizando con detalle todo aquello que lo rodea. Una observación que hace que dicho espacio pueda ser escenario de una experiencia estética y emocional capaz de resaltar su valor patrimonial, natural y cultural. Por otro lado, en relación con la formulación de los objetivos teóricos, cabe añadir que por medio de este proceso se establece el papel clave que desempeña el artista en el concepto de paisaje como constructo social y cultural, haciendo especial hincapié en la figura del ser humano como observador, responsable de dotar de significado al mismo. Por otro lado, se profundiza en el diálogo establecido entre arte y naturaleza, así como en la confluencia entre escultura y arquitectura, examinando los diversos referentes artísticos que han creado con y en la naturaleza. Además de analizar la identidad que diferentes civilizaciones han ido modelando con el paso del tiempo sobre el territorio de la D. O. P. Jumilla, poniendo el foco de atención en los cucos como elementos significativos del diálogo existente entre el medio natural y el ser humano. Por otro lado, con base en los objetivos prácticos, los mismos convergen en la concreción y materialización de dos proyectos artísticos basados en los resultados de los estudios teóricos. La metodología empleada para fundamentar las bases teóricas refleja el carácter interdisciplinar de este trabajo. Para ello, hacemos uso de tres herramientas metodológicas. La primera de ellas, basada en el análisis de diversas fuentes bibliográficas; la segunda de estas, la que nos llevará a un conocimiento más exhaustivo del entorno de la D.O.P. Jumilla, por medio de la observación in situ; Y por último, la metodología práctica, sustentada en el diseño y maquetación de la pieza artística, así como en la realización de un cortometraje. Gracias a ellas obtendremos las distintas conclusiones de la investigación que nos ocupa y que dan respuesta a los objetivos teóricos y prácticos ya planteados. Los principales resultados son, en primer lugar, la creación de nuestra pieza artística, titulada Observatorio Guardaviñas. Un espacio dirigido al enoturismo, un punto de referencia para la cultura vinícola de la D.O.P. Jumilla; un sitio útil donde encontrarse, sentarse, observar y contemplar el paisaje. Un espacio que fomenta el encuentro con la naturaleza de la D.O.P. Jumilla. En definitiva, se trata de generar una obra comprometida e integrada con el entorno, cuya referencia son los cucos, construcciones vernáculas de este territorio. Tanto es así que nuestra primera creación se complementa con la materialización de una segunda pieza artística, un cortometraje que, bajo el nombre de Legado, trata de ahondar en la historia de estos levantamientos con la fianalidad de sensibilizar la mirada de las personas hacia los mismos. El citado cortometraje profundiza en la importancia de preservar los cucos como parte fundamental del patrimonio cultural de la D.O.P. Jumilla, y de contribuir a la puesta en valor de la figura de Jerónimo Molina, pionero en la catalogación de los cucos de la D.O.P. Jumilla. Muestra de ello es el valioso patrimonio natural y cultural que podemos encontrar en este territorio, y que constituye el principal legado para nuestra sociedad.

Since the beginning of time, art has been closely linked to landscape, to the point that it is considered that the birth of this concept comes from the hand of painters and poets. These origins go back to the appearance of the territory as a stage for observation and spectacle, in which artialization plays a fundamental role. Thus, and focusing attention on this Doctoral Thesis, it should be noted that it arises from the need to generate a knowledge tool for the enhancement of the cultural landscape of the Protected Designation of Origin of Jumilla, where the observation It has become the key tool for relating to this territory, contemplating and analyzing in detail everything that surrounds it. An observation that makes this space the scene of an aesthetic and emotional experience capable of highlighting its heritage, natural and cultural value. On the one hand, in relation to the formulation of the theoretical objectives, it should be added that through this process the key role that the artist plays in the concept of landscape as a social and cultural construct is established, with special emphasis on the figure of being. human as an observer, responsible for endowing it with meaning. On the other hand, it delves into the dialogue established between art and nature, as well as the confluence between sculpture and architecture, examining the various artistic references that have been created with and in nature. In addition to analyzing the identity that different civilizations have been modeling over time on the territory of D. O. P. Jumilla, putting the focus of attention on the cucos as significant elements of the dialogue between the natural environment and the human being. Besides that, based on the practical objectives, they converge in the concretion and materialization of two artistic projects based on the results of the theoretical studies. The methodology used to establish the theoretical bases reflects the interdisciplinary nature of this work. To do this, we make use of three methodological tools. The first one, based on the analysis of various bibliographic sources; the second of these, the one that will lead us to a more exhaustive knowledge of the D.O.P. Jumilla, through in situ observation; And finally, the practical methodology, based on the design and layout of the artistic piece, as well as on the making of a short film. Thanks to them we will obtain the different conclusions of the research that concerns us and that respond to the theoretical and practical objectives already raised. The main results are, firstly, the creation of our artistic piece, entitled Guardaviñas Observatory. A space aimed at wine tourism, a point of reference for the wine culture of the D.O.P. Jumilla; a useful place to meet, sit, observe and contemplate the landscape. A space that encourages the encounter with nature in the D.O.P. Jumilla. In short, it is about generating a work committed and integrated with the environment, whose reference is the cucos, vernacular constructions of this territory. So much so that our first creation is complemented by the materialization of a second artistic piece, a short film that, under the name of Legado, tries to delve into the history of these uprisings in order to sensitize people's gaze towards them. The aforementioned short film delves into the importance of preserving cucos as a fundamental part of the cultural heritage of the D.O.P. Jumilla, and to contribute to the enhancement of the figure of Jerónimo Molina, a pioneer in the cataloging of "cucos" from the D.O.P. Jumilla. Proof of this is the valuable natural and cultural heritage that we can find in this territory, and that constitutes the main legacy for our society.
