The Critical Discourse Analysis comprises various techniques and strategies that allow the researcher to investigate the relationships between society and its discourse, from a social critique. This type of methodology allows us to observe the cognitive images of the Other and the consequences that these representations generate in relationships; particularly, in the construction of social identities -such as representations of the world, that can be real or imaginary-. One of the purposes of this methodology is to observe the degree of influence that discourses have on the ways of thinking (and acting) of interlocutors, as well as on the verification (and legitimization) of value systems. In this article we intend to take a brief look at the genealogy of this methodology to provide the key aspects for consideration by social and/or humanist scientists. |
