de creación; del recurso o mecanismo de formación de palabras del que ha resultado;
adaptado o no. Asimismo,

In this article, we present the results and conclusions of the quantitative and qualitative ana lysis carried out on a corpus of over 700 potential neologisms , inserted in 815 different contexts which were detected in the analysis of 17 different copies of three written media outlets. The methodology and protocols used for the analysis are those esta blished by the Observatori de Neologia del Institut Universitari de Lingüística Aplicada de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Neology Observatory of the Applied Linguistics Institute at Pompeu Fabra University) which coordinates the Network of Neology Observato ries for Peninsular Spanish, of which the Neology Section of the University of Cadiz, directed by us since its inauguration in 2008, is a member. In this study, we have focused on determining the linguistic category of potential neologisms, paying due atte ntion to the context in which the new lexical unit appears; the type of neologism according to its creation process; the word - formation resource or mechanism from which it has arisen; the foreign language from which the potential neologism has been importe d, in the case of loan neologisms, and whether or not it is used as an adapted loan in the receiving language. Likewise, we have distinguished between potential neologisms that are different forms; between those that are identical forms but, belonging to d ifferent linguistic categories, are different lexical units or words; the frequency of occurrence of each form and lexical unit, and those that are terminological units or terms but which appear in theses articles or informational texts in the written press. |
