Description
Abstract
Today's societies have become multicultural societies due to the fact that they are subject to a significant migratory flow from developing countries and there are also ethnic minorities that demand recognition of their identity and culture. This coexistence is, on many occasions, difficult and the origin of conflicts, tensions and social changes that have degenerated into rejection, discrimination, xenophobia and racism. Knowing if this situation is reflected in Rosa Montero's novel Lágrimas en la lluvia, is the main objective of this work. To do this, after studying the current meaning of identity and otherness, we have analyzed Rosa Montero's novel in order to know if this current problem is approached, although it is transferred to the fantastic worlds that are described in it.
