Abstract
El estudio del séquito de Juan II de Aragón a su muerte puede aportarnos relevantes noticias so-bre la estructuración de las élites bajomedievales en la Península Ibérica. De la misma manera,su estudio resulta excepcional para comprender el traspaso de poder en los estados dinásticos delfinal del periodo medieval. En las siguientes páginas planteamos un estudio prosopográfico queincide en la dimensión personal de los colaboradores que hicieron posible este proceso a finales dela Edad Media. Las necesidades políticas de la Corona de Aragón así como la situación del jovenheredero serán fundamentales para encuadrar un trabajo sistemático que nos permita mostrar tantoel desconocido ambiente juanista como las relaciones de la Corte real aragonesa, desdoblada tantoen el espacio como en su programa político.
Studying the royal entourage of John II of Aragon could help us to better understand the way medievalelites were organized in the Iberian Peninsula. In the same way, this case study seems very useful toHistoriography for analyzing and understand dynastic transmisión of power. To this end, in this articlewe study the royal court of the Aragonese king from a prosopographical perspective. The AragoneseCrown's political needs and the activity of castilian prince Ferdinand are two key factors in order toframe a study focused not only on the unknown environment of the court but also on the relationshipswithin a divided Aragonese royal court.
