Description
Abstract
The low empire led to a complex transformation of the Roman population, both in the cities and in rural settlements. One of the most studied changes has been the monumentalization of the living spaces of the villae, a unit that united political, economic, social and, over time, religious power around one owner. This phenomenon in the Ebro valley began during the last decades of the third century, worsened in the fourth and continued during the fifth. The objective is to be able to establish a state of the question about how these monumentalization programs were, what effects they produced and to observe if the Roman rural settlement units persisted during the Visigoth domain.
