Abstract
Las personas mantenemos una relación abierta con el cuerpo a lo largo de la vida, relación que no tiene una dimensión exclusivamente individual, sino que también es construida socialmente. Nos aproximamos a algunas incertidumbres que nos plantea la relación con el cuerpo en la sociedad de consumo: el estatus del cuerpo, situándose en el límite entre sujeto y objeto; la doble lectura que se puede hacer de la ocupación del cuerpo, como una obsesión y una búsqueda de certeza; la normalización del cuerpo y el deseo. La circunstancia de devenir cuerpo nos remite a la posibilidad de pensar el cuerpo como un ejercicio vital y liberador.
We human beings sustain an open relationship with our bodies all along our lives. This relationship does not possess an exclusively individual dimension. It is as well a social construction. This article deals with some uncertainties the relationship with our body pose to us in the context of a consumer society: the status of the body, situated at the edge between subject and object; the double reading one can make of the body occupation, as an obsession and a search of certainty; the normalization of body and desire. The circumstance of becoming a body drives us to the possibility of thinking the body as a vital and liberating exercise.
