Abstract
Este artículo tiene como finalidad dar a conocer el reciente hallazgo de tres aceñas y un tablacho medievales localizados en el yacimiento de Senda de Granada (Murcia). Estas estructuras hidráulicas están asociadas a las acequias Churra La Vieja y Alfatego, cuyos cauces derivan agua de la acequia Mayor de Aljufía que tiene su origen en Azud Mayor de la Contraparada. Se trata de las primeras aceñas de acequia islámicas que se conocen en esta parte oriental del territorio andalusí. La cronología que ofrecen los dos tipos de arcaduz documentados (siglos X y XI) nos permite, no sólo fechar estas estructuras sino también la construcción de las acequias a la que se asocian, fundamentalmente Churra La Nueva. También se hace en esta comunicación una propuesta de reconstrucción funcional de ese tipo de aceñas que se abastecían, gracias a la ley de vasos comunicante, del agua que circulaba por la acequia.
This article strives to release the recent discovery of three medieval aceñas and a tablacho located at the Senda de Granada archaeological site (Murcia). These hydraulic structures are associated with the Churra La Vieja and Alfatego irrigation ditches, whose channels divert water from Aljufía’s Great Ditch, which originates in turn in the Contraparada’s Great Azud. These are the fi rst aceñas of an Islamic irrigation ditch known in this oriental part of the Andalussian territory. The chrono-logy provided by the two documented types of arcaduz (X and XI centuries) allows us to date not only the aforementioned structures, but also the construction of the ditches to which Churra La Nueva is mainly related.In this paper we also make a functional reconstruction proposal for this kind of aceñas, which were furnished with the water fl owing along the channels by virtue of the law of communicating vessels.
