Description
Abstract
The goal of this paper is conducting an exploratory study on the job satisfaction of teachers in the Community of Murcia, in relation to responsibility positions, interpersonal relationships, facilities and resources of the school, teacher´s training, labor conditions and workplace harassment, mistreatment or aggression. To this purpose, an ad hoc protocol was filled in by 242 teachers. Cronbach reliability coefficient is .95. Descriptive analysis, media difference, and multivariate analysis were performed. Teachers value as medium-high their satisfaction about their interpersonal relationships, the appreciation shown by the educational community to their work, the work environment, the school facilities and resources and some labor conditions. They feel moderate satisfied about the educational institutions and the appreciation they show to their work. The satisfaction about their training is rated as medium-low. There is a high percentage of teachers who report cases of workplace harassment, mistreatment or aggression from institutions and members of the educational community. The administrations should improve their relationship with the teachers, the appreciation they show to their work and the contribution to their training. They should also take action in cases of workplace harassment, mistreatment or aggression experienced by teachers
