Description
Abstract
Rachilde, productive French writer who developed her literary career during the last decades of the 19 th Century and the first half of the 20 th Century, published during the twenties, two novels (La souris japonaise and Le prisonnier) whose common point is the training trip. In the work of Rachilde, travel training is a kind of escape the place of origin for the development of oneself. In this sense abroad is a space of freedom where the individual can act freely without social constraints at origin. Consequently, foreign travel is a pretext which makes the inner journey possible.
