Description
Abstract
Abstract: The Rothschild manuscript 3197 from the BnF, dating from the 16th century and traditionally considered Marie de Montmorency’s album of verses, has been the subject of a recent analysis by François Rouget (2019). This specialist manages to clarify the authorship of certain poems, thus extending the work started by Picot (1912). This article proposes new authorship attributions, which are added to the list drawn up by Rouget. Among them, several poems by Jean Passerat, Étienne de La Boétie, Mellin de SaintGelais and Brantôme are identified. Our study also transcribes the corresponding textual variants and seeks to show how these provide information on the writing process of the poems and the context of creation of the album.
