Abstract
El presente artículo recoge las ideas principales de Freire respecto al hombre y a la sociedad: el hombre no es sólo un ser en el mundo, sino un ser con el mundo. La cultura que crea el hombre arranca del mundo para transformarlo. Se distinguen tres tipos de sujetos humanos: el inmerso, el emerso y el inserto. El hombre con el mundo intenta huir de la cultura del silencio y construir la cultura del diálogo a través de la cual se logra la verdadera participación, la igualdad y la justicia. Por todo ello, Freire seguirá estando vigente en el siglo venidero y su pensamiento contribuirá a la educación de adultos que aprendan a conocer, a hacer, a vivir juntos y a ser.
The article gathers up the main Freire's ideas about mankind and society. Man is not only a being in the world but a being with the world. The culture created by mankind sets up from the world in order to transform it. We can distinguish three different human subject types: the inmersed one, the emerged one and the inserted one. The 'man in the world' tries to run away from the culture of silence and makes up the culture of the dialogue, through which real participation, equality and justice are achieved. All in all Freire will go on being in force next century and his thought will contribute towards Adults Education, so that adults will be able to learn, do, live together and be.
