Abstract
En este artículo se discute una hipótesis de trabajo consistente en definir la obra de arte como la posibilidad teórica y práctica de producir lo desconocido, en contraste con las operaciones científico-técnicas cuya misión es, precisamente, reemplazarlo por lo conocido. Se parte de un texto de Roland Barthes —Fragmentos de un discurso amoroso— para enseguida abordar algunas obras de Jean Baudrillard que abonan generosamente en esta hipótesis. Las temáticas evocadas son el fin de la crítica, la operación simbólica y la evaporación de la metafísica, para desembocar en una reflexión a propósito de la inocencia del arte.
Abstract: This article discusses a working hypothesis that defines the work of art as the theoretical and practical possibility of producing the unknown, in contrast to scientific-technical operations whose mission is precisely to replace it with the known. It is based on a text by Roland Barthes —A Lover’s Discourse: fragments— and then addresses some works by Jean Baudrillard that generously support this hypothesis. The themes evoked are the end of criticism, the symbolic operation and the evaporation of metaphysics, leading to a reflection on the innocence of art.
