Abstract
El artículo ofrece un análisis de las aportaciones de la investigación sobre variables que
inciden en el rendimiento escolar de los alumnos y en el fracaso escolar. Se asume el punto de
vista de la prevención y los conceptos relacionados de riesgo, factor de riesgo y factor protector.
El propósito de este análisis es indagar si existe la posibilidad de obtener conclusiones claras en
torno a qué variables son significativas para la prevención del fracaso escolar. Se exponen
algunas de las dificultades comunes de la investigación en este campo que impiden que estas
aportaciones constituyan una base teórica suficientemente sólida en la que apoyar la intervención
preventiva en el contexto escolar. En base a este análisis se sugieren algunas líneas de
investigación educativa para avanzar en la lucha contra el fracaso escolar.
This article offers an analysis about results Of research dealing with variables that influence school achievement and school failure. We assume the point of view of prevention and concepts related, like risk, risk factor and protective factor. The aim of this analysis is to search if there are any possibility to get clear conclusions about which variables are mean ingfu 1 for prevention of school failure. We present some common difficulties of research in this field which impede that their results could be a solid enough theoretic framework to support preventive intervention in school contexto This analysis suggests some educational research lines to move forward the struggle against school failure.
