Abstract
El informe que aquí se presenta corresponde a un proceso de Investigación
Participativa desarrollado durante dos años en Barahona (República Dominicana).
Se pretendía en esta investigación impulsar la articulación de la educación popular
y la educación formal, en zonas marginadas, otorgando así a la escuela y a la
comunidad educativa un activo papel en la transformación social y la organización de
las clases populares.
Desde el diagnóstico de las Instituciones educativas y sociales, analizadas críticamente
por un colectivo de maestros, se establece un plan orientado al compromiso y
cambio progresivo de manera de ser y actuar de la comunidad educativa: nueva
gestión más participativa, un cambio sustancial en el enfoque, contenido y organización
del currículum, así como una mayor incidencia en las organizaciones populares
y la vida de la comunidad.
El informe describe la espiral del cambio y los esfuerzos por sistematizar el
proceso y aunar la capacidad transformadora y el rigor científico.
The report presented corresponds to a Partipatory Research process developed for two years a Barahona (Dominican Republic). The goal of that research was promote the articulation of popular and formal education on deprived areas. In the process the school and the educational comunity were giver an active role in the social transformation as well as the organization of the popular classes. A group of teachers critically analyzed the educational and social institutions to make a diagnosis. A plan based on such diagnosis was designed toward commitment and progressive change in the character and the way of doing of the educational comunity: a more collaborative management, a fundamental change in the approach, content and organization of the curriculum, as well as greater influence in the popular organization and the community life. The report describes the spiral of the change, the effort to systematize the process and coordinate the capacity of transformation and the scientific rigor.
