Abstract
En Cuba, el aprovechamiento inadecuado de los atractivos turísticos refleja la falta de herramientas para obtener información oportuna que impulse el desarrollo de nuevos productos. Esta problemática es notable en territorios con alto potencial para el turismo, como lo es el municipio Bahía Honda. A partir de esto, la investigación t iene como objetivo definir una propuesta de uso funcional turístico para la inserción del municipio Bahía Honda en la actividad turística de Cuba. Se empleó una metodología con enfoque mixto, aplicando el análisis documental, la revisión bibliográfica, el trabajo de campo, la tormenta de ideas, el méto do estadístico matemático y un grupo focal. Como principales resultados, se formularon recomendaciones para el uso sostenible del territorio, considerando principios de sostenibilidad y el apoyo a iniciativas turísticas locales. Se elaboró un registro deta l lado de los recursos y atractivos turísticos del territorio, que permitió identificar potencialidades para generar nuevas ofertas
In Cuba, the inadequate use of tourist attractions reflects the lack of tools to obtain t imely information to promote the development of new products. This problem is notable in territories with high potential for tourism, such as the municipality of Bahía Honda. Based on this, the research aims to define a proposal for the functional use of tourism for the insertion of the municipality of Bahía Honda in Cuba's tourism activity. A methodology with a mixed approach was used, applying documentary analysis, bibliographic review, field work, brainstorming, the mathematical statistical method and a focus group. As main results, recommendations were formulated for the sustainable use of the territory, considering principles of sustainability and support for local tourism initiatives. A deta i led record of the territory's tourism resources and attractions was prepared, which made i t possible to identify potential for generating new offers.
