Description
Abstract
A variety of factors, such as the increase in migratory movements and globalization, both economic and communications, have reconfigured human dynamics within contemporary societies, which are characterized by the coexistence of people from diverse cultures. If we want to guarantee that this coexistence is peaceful and respectful of each culture, it is essential to promote effective communication between individuals with diverse beliefs, cultures and values. Taking these considerations into account, this study aims to gauge the level of awareness and understanding of intercultural communication skills among students enrolled in the Primary Education Degree at the University of Murcia. Based on the findings, a set of activities is proposed that leverage literature as a primay tool. These activities advocate for a critical methodology rooted in dialogue and encounter (Freire, 2008), grounded in constructive discourse (Popper, 2008).
