Date of data collection (single date or date range): From [2020-10-01] to [2024-11-14] 4. Deposit date: [2024-11-14] 5. Language: English -------------------------- METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION -------------------------- 1.Description of the methodology used to generate the dataset. 1.1. Databases 1.1.1. coinfame_map.xls The “Infame” database (Casal et al., 1996) was adapted and generated a new database ("coinfame_map") to represent a hypothetical rabbit disease outbreak in Murcia, Spain, adapting epidemiological variables from the “Infame” database. Thus, simulated dates of case occurrences on the farms, along with hypothetical farm coordinates, were incorporated into the new database; however, these cases did not correspond to any real events. The coinfame_map.xls file contains three sheets: 1) dat_epidemiol_munic. Contains 45 records and 10 variables, including municipality code and name; epidemiological data per municipality and average of epidemiological data for farms by municipality 2) cases_farms. Contains 129 records and 3 variables, detailing the onset date for each of the 129 disease cases and the coordinates of affected rabbit farms. 3) cases_munic. Similarly to the previous file, the coordinates do not correspond to the location of the suspected outbreaks but to the municipal administration (town hall). 1.1.2 murcia_munic.shp Shapefile file (shp) contain municipal boundaries for the province of Murcia (Spain) 1.1.3. spain_provinc.kml This file in KML (Keyhole Markup Language) format was exported in QGIS from a shapefile with the provincial boundaries of Spain. 1.2. Interactive map (story map) with coinfame A project in interactive QGIS format was developed with this data to display various options for visualizing the results. 2. Software or tools needed to interpret the data. The presented files are designed for use in open Geographic Information Systems (GIS) such as Epi Map from Epi Info or QGIS. 3. Procedures followed for data quality assurance. 1.1. coinfame_map.xls Points indicating case occurrences were generated from a vector layer of points created in QGIS which, while fictitious, follow a pattern related to the actual distribution of rabbit farms in the Murcia region. 1.2 (murcia_munic.shp) and 1.3 (spain_provinc.kml) These vector files were obtained from the official download page of the Spanish National Geographic Institute (IGN, 2020). -------------------------- FILES -------------------------- 1.
