It is noticeable the care taken by gardeners and curators to keep in order the displays every year, labelling thoroughly the plants in cultivation, after the snow carpet melts. The older one, amongst alpine gardens, is the Alpengarten in Vienna, however most impressive are those situated in the Aosta Valley (Italy): Saussurea in the Mont Blanc area, Chanousia and Paradisia; or in the Trentino and Alto Adige Viotte dil Monte Bondone. The Patscherkofel Alpine Botanic Garden of the Innsbruck University is small and nice, with splendid views over the Inn River valley. Do not miss in France the Jardin Alpin du Col de Lautaret (Isere), near the famous col Du Galibier and Ja¨ysinia, a landscaped alpine garden in Samo¨ens (Haute Savoie)
