Antonio Buero Vallejo y el teatro polaco(2016-05-05) Baczyska, BeataThe article discusses in detail the circumstances of the first Polish performance of a play by Antonio Buero Vallejo: El sueño de la razón at the Teatr na Woli in Warsaw, on 21th of March 1976, directed by Andrzej Wajda, with Tadeusz omnicki as Goya, and its social and political implications in Poland. Only two plays by Buero Vallejo has been translated and published in Polish: El sueño de la razón (1974) and El concierto de San Ovidio (1987). Nevertheless the mise-en-scéne by Wajda is considered one of the best ever realizations of Buero's plays.
