    Las Altas Capacidades en el sistema educativo español: reflexiones sobre el concepto y la identificación

    El presente trabajo recoge una apretada síntesis de algunos de los problemas conceptuales que están vinculados con el desarrollo y la atención a los estudiantes con altas capacidades en el sistema educativo español, preferentemente no universitario. Así, parece esencial centrarse en el enfoque teórico de los modelos preeminentes en la literatura científica más relevante que permitan arribar a una mínima conceptualización operativa de los conceptos de capacidad y talento. Por otra parte, se analizan los problemas derivados de la identificación y su evidente déficit en las escuelas públicas y privadas. Algunas consideraciones a modelos relevantes de identificación basados en las medidas “out of level” son objeto de atención particular por su importancia metodológica y práctica, y por haber sido implantado por el autor durante años en España.

    Juan Recio Aragonés, un judeoconverso entre la élite lucentina

    En los últimos años se está superando la tradicional forma de estudiar al mundo judeoconverso, en la que la relación de la minoría con la Inquisición era el objeto principal de estudio, dejándose de lado la investigación de los confesos en sí mismos y de su integración social. Hoy sabemos que los cristianos nuevos no sólo sobrevivieron a persecuciones populares e institucionales, sino que lograron su total asimilación en todos los estratos de la sociedad. Ejemplos como el de la familia Aragonés muestran que muchos pasaron de la supervivencia al ennoblecimiento, no sin esfuerzo, no sin poner en marcha una serie de estrategias encaminadas, principalmente, a lograr la ocultación de su progenie y el enriquecimiento.

    Liquid biopsy of circulating tumor cells: From isolation, enrichment, and genome sequencing to clinical applications

    Circulating tumor cells (CTCs), shed from primary tumors into the bloodstream, play a crucial role in metastasis and hold great potential in cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment monitoring. Conventional CTC detection using epithelial biomarkers like epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) for immunocapture overlooks mesenchymal-like CTCs with high metastatic potential, spurring the development of non-immunocapture technologies that use biophysical traits for enrichment. Innovations in microfluidic platforms and multi-parametric sorting improve isolation efficiency and address related challenges. Breakthroughs in single-cell genomic and transcriptomic sequencing enable in-depth molecular characterization of CTCs. Clinically, CTC enumeration and molecular profiling are emerging as real-time tools for assessing therapeutic response and predicting outcomes, especially in metastatic breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers. This review focuses on CTC isolation, enrichment techniques, their applications in different tumors, downstream analysis progress, and potential in precision medicine

    The Teaching of Interculturality through Literature: New Challenges

    The teaching of literature in secondary schools in the Czech Republic (note that this is in the course of Czech literature courses and taught in Czech) contributes in a relevant way to open to young people new worlds. It works starting from the treasury of the world thought, Homer’s Odyssey for example through Shakespearean drama and Goethe’s Faust, to the novels by Balzac or by Zola, to the twentieth century authors who engaged in the humanist cause by unveiling the hidden facets of human existence. The purpose of our reflection on intercultural topics is first of all to analyze the contribution of reading to the level of knowledge, then to propose the possibilities of using literary texts to demonstrate how much the dialogue between cultures is included in the works themselves, and finally, to consider which contemporary literary texts on a world scale could enrich in a relevant way the choice of books recommended to young Czechs. The conclusion will be a synthesis trying to compare the situation of Czech students to that of young Frenchmen, for example. It will also highlight the role of translation not only in teaching literature, but in knowing the Other.
