Los verbos denominales franceses derivados de cul, un divertimento morfosemántico
(2018-01-24) Aragón Cobo, Marina; Úbeda Aragón, Sylvia
The lexical base “cul” is in French the starting point of a long morpho- logical process. In this study, we will limit ourselves to analyzing fifteen French verbs derived from “cul”, an object of lexical, semantic and syntactic fun. For this, we refer to the term “valence” in linguistics, a theory developed mainly by Lucien Tesnière. The examples provided will allow us to show that these denominal verbs, being very lexical- ized, have lost over time their semantic relationship with the base lexeme. They have thus passed into a figurative sense by a metaphorical process that dilutes the meaning of the base noun, remaining detached from any gross or repulsive connotation.
