- PublicationOpen AccessAnálisis temporal de una base de datos de preguntas de autoevaluación para el aprendizaje de un lenguaje de programación(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 2010) García Beltrán, Angel; Martínez, Raquel; Jaén, José Alberto; Tapia, Santiago; Arranz, José MaríaThe AulaWeb platform has being employed as a learning-teaching support system in the Computer Science course of the Industrial Engineering and Chemical Engineering degrees at the ETSII-UPM since 2000-01 academic year. The self-assessment module is one of the most used functionalities, especially in courses with many enrolled students. The system is used as continuous assessment as the academic lectures take place during the course. This activity mark is taken into account to calculate the corresponding course final mark. The self-assessment module is completed with a database of more than 800 questions. The questions database remains constant since 2004-05 course. In this work, the evolution of self-assessment results is analysed in order to detect a possible system efficiency decrease.
- PublicationOpen AccessMachine learning application in soccer: a systematic review(Termedia Publishing, 2022-03-16) Rico-González, Markel; Méndez, Amaia; Clemente, Filipe Manuel; Baca, Arnold; Pino Ortega, José; Actividad Física y DeporteDue to the chaotic nature of soccer, the predictive statistical models have become in a current challenge to decision-making based on scientific evidence. The aim of the present study was to systematically identify original studies that applied machine learning (ML) to soccer data, highlighting current possibilities in ML and future applications. A systematic review of PubMed, SPORTDiscus, and FECYT (Web of Sciences, CCC, DIIDW, KJD, MEDLINE, RSCI, and SCIELO) was performed according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. From the 145 studies initially identified, 32 were fully reviewed, and their outcome measures were extracted and analyzed. In summary, all articles were clustered into three groups: injury (n = 7); performance (n = 21), which was classified in match/league outcomes forecasting, physical/physiological forecasting, and technical/tactical forecasting; and the last group was about talent forecasting (n = 5). The development of technology, and subsequently the large amount of data available, has become ML in an important strategy to help team staff members in decision-making predicting dose-response relationship reducing the chaotic nature of this team sport. However, since ML models depend upon the amount of dataset, further studies should analyze the amount of data input needed make to a relevant predictive attempt which makes accurate predicting available.
- PublicationOpen AccessSTEM approach and computer science impact the metaphorical thinking of Indonesian students’(Universidad de Murcia, Servicio de Publicaciones, 2022) Farida, Farida; Supriadi, Nanang; Suherman, Suherman; Andriani, Siska; Pratiwi, Dona Dinda; Rakhmawati Muhammad, RosidaMetaphorical thinking is important in improving the formation and discovery of learning ideas in the 21st-century. However, the metaphorical thinking of Indonesian students is below the international average in terms of cognitive process, according to PISA 2018. This study aims to identify differences in the ability of students' metaphorical thinking in learning STEM and Computer Science (STEM-CS). This research employed the experimental design with a simple random sampling technique to determine the sample. The population of this study was 280 junior high school students in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. The data collection technique has been tested to see the improvement of metaphorical thinking. Hypothetical testing has been used by one-way ANOVA with a meaningful level of 5%. The results found that the average class value applied to the STEM-CS training model was 88.00, which was higher compared to the STEM class with an average score of 86.00 and the control class with an average score of 73.00. It is concluded that the STEM-CS model can be used as an alternative solution for learning in the industrial era 4.0.
